Lions demolish Pumas and EP Kings
Prior to their big crunch game against neighbours Blue Bulls, at Loftus, the Lions had encounters with the Pumas away and EP Kings at Emirates Airlines Park.

JOHANNESBURG – Against the Pumas, four yellow cards were shown to the ill-disciplined home side, who were mauled 41-11 by the Lions, who recorded their second successive win over the side from Mpumalanga, who are based in the Lowveld.
The Lions took a 7-0 lead in the sixth minute and led 16-3 at halftime.
The following week, the Lions also ran riot as EP Kings faded away at Emirates Airlines Park. After leading 27-14 at halftime, the Lions, with nine changes, romped home 37-21.
This coming Saturday (September 19), on the starting day of the Springbok World Cup campaign, at 16:45, the Lions — without a single player in England for World Cup duty — will face the Sharks in their return match.
First time round the honours belonged to Jaco Kriel’s XV, who were victorious with 31-16.
Lions’ supporters will be out in full force, to support their team for a repeat of that away result.
Kick-off is at 14:30, at Emirates Airlines Park.
