It’s hot! No, I’m not complaining, it’s my favourite weather, hot and dry. Hope you are all enjoying it too.
The mall
I’ve had further chance to shop at Mall of the South and I’m just loving some of the stores. Poetry has the most gorgeous clothing, trinkets, pottery and gifts. Hats off to Typo! They sell amazing stationery and all kinds of writing materials, as well as funky cool stuff. Moms will be spoilt for choice with kiddies clothing boutiques; teens will adore the fashion stores and housewives can shop at Pick n Pay and Checkers, not that I’m putting housewives in the shopping for groceries category, but you’ll know what I mean. If you haven’t been there yet, go give it a try and “shop till you drop”.
Eat your heart out – The restaurants which are open are looking great. We ate at Grand Life Café last weekend and our food was delicious. Just Darling looks absolutely darling with delightful décor and gifts, just the place to stop for a coffee and cake. I haven’t been to Mythos yet but the restaurant looks tops! There really is an eating place for everyone; whether for coffee and cake, snacks and drinks/ cocktails or a delicious meal.
The crème de le crème for me though is L’Occitane. It’s absolutely gorgeous and the fragrances which greet you as you walk through the door, sensational. You’ll find the store on the ground floor just beyond the entrance to Fournos Bakery and Mugg and Bean. L’Occitane offers high quality beauty products and fragrances, developed following the principles of phytotherapy and aromatherapy. Their textures and fragrances are inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle: using a L’Occitane product is always a moment of well-being and sensory delight.
I purchased two gift packs and had them each individually gift wrapped, which is a gift in itself. If you’ve ever watched the movie, Love Actually and remember the scene where Rowan Atkinson (aka a shop assistant at a store) was gift wrapping a piece of jewellery, the staff at L’Occitane are just as professional with their gift wrapping. It was an absolute delight to watch them wrapping the gifts. A definite ”must shop” to pop into.
