The u.9 Aberdeen team from Alberton Football Club brought pride and glory to the club by winning the league final on September 20.
The AFC u.9 team paved their way to the finals by winning the following matches:
* During the quarter-finals against Corinthians FC, AFC came back from 3-1 down to win 5-3.
* The semi-finals against Springs Old Boys FC was equally close fought, with the AFC players fighting back from 3-2 down to win 4-3.
* During the final against Olympia FC, Alberton were down 3-0 in the first half, but as they had done the entire tournament, the team showed a ‘never say die’ attitude and fighting character to take the match to 3-3, and eventually won on penalties.
