Storm brings pain to single mother

All four walls of the Bluemeyer property blew over and the single mother cannot afford to fix the damages.

EDEN PARK- Monday, November 16, was a disastrous day for many residents from Edenpark and the surrounding area.

Large clouds of red dust blew through the area before rain and a strong wind caused damage to houses, shacks and other structures.

The Bluemeyer family in Laverda Street, Little Germiston, suffered a big blow when all four walls around their house were blown down. The unemployed and single mother who volunteers at the police trauma centre was in tears when she reported the damage to the RECORD.

“I am just a volunteer without an income. I help the abused women and children brought to the police station. I don’t know how I am going to repair the damage. I would really appreciate help from anyone,” the heartbroken woman said.
