ALBERTON – In culmination of the past rugby season, A-Square Forklift Alberton Rugby Club honoured their rugby winners of the past season with the following trophies and awards:
Seniors: Brian Sola (best forward), Jonathan Reed (backline), André Schwab (most promising) and Ryno Brits (player of the year).
Second team: Ryan Harris (forward) and Henry Payne (backline).
Third team: Bertus Wiese (forward) and Chris Hanekom (backline).
Under 21: André Lombaard (forward) and Gerchwon Hykes (backline).
Under 19: Ewart Schwab (forward) and Nkosinathi Ntuli (backline).
Best junior players’ u.19 and u.21 overall: Deevan du Plessis (player of the year), Bennie Botes (most valuable) and Blaise Fix (most promising).
Sevens rugby: Anthony Kapp (seniors) and Ruan Coetzee (juniors).
Club awards: Tanya Ulgheri (manager), Eddie Martheze (stirrer), u.19 team (team of the year), Greg Schneider, Arno Visagie and Nolan Cloete (coaches of the year),) Kyle Wood (leadership), Anthony Kapp (most senior and player of the year), A-Square Forklift (sponsor of the year) and Peet van Niekerk (media reporter of the year).
