World Sevens Series in Cape Town going to be a huge hit!

World Sevens Series in Cape Town.

THE World Sevens Series will be coming to Cape Town for the first time this weekend.

The South African leg of the World Sevens Series rugby competition takes place at the Cape Town Stadium on the weekend of December 12 to 13.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Sevens has been met with overwhelming approval from supporters and media alike. In 2014, 60 000 fans played a full part in an enthralling weekend carnival of rugby that ultimately inspired the Blitzbokke to a 17-14 victory over New Zealand in a nail biting final.

The decision to relocate this year’s event to Cape Town has been extremely well received by the local populace. Tickets sold out shortly after going on sale, mostly snapped up by rugby lovers in the Western Cape eagerly looking forward to their first taste of watching the finest players on the planet going head to head against each other before their very eyes for two full festive days inside a rocking Cape Town Stadium.

As part of Cell C’s “Believe, Anything Can Happen” summer campaign, spectators will stand a chance of winning exclusive limited edition Cell C HSBC World Sevens Series vests by taking part in rugby related challenges on the eastern stands of the stadium on both days of the tournament.

The 2015/16 competition kicked off in Dubai on December 4 and 5, before travelling to South Africa this week. The circus will then travel to New Zealand, Australia, the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore and France before finishing with the final round in England on the weekend of May 20 to 22, 2016.
