THE Alberton Cricket Club finished off their season in style on Sunday, April 9, with a victory over Delfos Cricket Club, in a match that ensured that they finished third out of 11 teams in the Presidents League for 2016.

It was good to see the number of spectators who supported the local team, and fans were not disappointed.

Alberton batted first and were clinical in posting 277 for nine, with Kyle Mclean contributing with a superb knock of 75.

It was Alberton’s bowling and fielding, however, that was particularly impressive.

With the last 20 overs left in the match, Alberton still needed five wickets, but dug deep and backed themselves for the win.

Eventually, the visitors were bowled out for 116 with the best bowler, Caldon Strimling, ending with figures of 4-41 in 14 overs, handing the home side an impressive victory and ensuring they ended the year in fine style.
