Sundowns clinch coveted titles

Absa Coach and Player of the month awards.

THE way in which Pitso Mosimane led Mamelodi Sundowns to a victorious journey in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) must be praised.

The team from Pretoria wrapped up the league in high fashion when they, with two league matches left, already won the Absa Premiership Championship 2015/16, having collected 64 points. Sundowns has won the PSL title for a record seventh time.

To top their triumph, Mosimane and forward Khama Billiat also pocketed the Absa PSL Coach and Player of the Months March and April. Mosimane won a record fifth Absa Premiership Coach of the Month award for the 2015/16 season. He has led his side to four victories in six matches over this period.

“I said to my players that we only need to break up the league in blocks and then make sure that we achieve those goals during the season. We did that and winning the league was then made easy,” said Mosimane.

“We are now focusing on the Confed Cup and we are now under pressure to do well in this league,” said Mosimane.
