Dog owner says thank you

Recently, our Dachund (Jasmyn) injured her spine and completely lost the use of her back legs, tail and bladder control.

Our dachshund (Jasmyn) recently injured her spine and completely lost the use of her back legs, tail and bladder control.

We immediately took her to the Brackenhurst Veterinary Hospital where we were advised that it was preferable to have an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) done to properly evaluate the damage.

Apparently this could not be arranged in time, so Dr Joshua Dabroski did something with a dye to show the injured area and then took an X-ray.

The doctor operated from about 18:30 until late and then phoned us to advise that the operation went well.

We were advised that spinal injuries could take four to six weeks before any improvement would be seen and up to three months for, hopefully, a full recovery.

After a couple of days we took Jasmyn home and were advised to keep her as still as possible.

In only one week she started walking and had bladder control.

We thank God for answered prayers and Dr Dabroski and his staff for their excellent service and treatment.

“Thank you Barry and Gail so much for the very kind words. It was so rewarding to see Jasmyn recover as well as she has. It is a real privilege and a pleasure to work with pet owners who care for their pets as you do. You are an inspiration to me as a vet,” said Dr Joshua Dabrowski from the Brackenhurst Veterinary Hospital.
