Artistic gymnasts outshine competition

Gymnasts from Resilience Gymnastics club started their competition season on July 22 and 23 with the Central Gauteng Regionals in Fourways.

ARTISTIC gymnasts from Resilience Gymnastics Club proved themselves beyond a doubt this season.

The youngsters proved their mettle at the Central Gauteng Regionals in Fourways and shined at the Gauteng Provincials which were held in Eldoraigne. The gymnasts also outshined the competition at the recent North Zone Competitions in Kempton Park.

Resilience gymnasts were awarded bronze, silver and gold medals according to their overall scores in all three competitions.

“Outstanding performances were given by our gymnasts and they will be awarded with Central Gauteng Junior Provincial Colours,” said coach Tracy van Herwaarde.

Coaches Roxanne and Tracy van Herwaarde, Donelle Maccario and Ethan van der Merwe are very proud of their gymnasts’ achievements. “It has been a tough year getting these gymnasts ready due to routine changes. We would like to thank the coaches and gymnasts for their diligent training and the parents for their support of the club and their children,” added Tracy.
