With reference to your front page article in the Alberton Record on October 19, 2016.
We are based in the same street as M&P Bodies and experience the same electrical problems, that are costing our company business.
Our computers are also affected, due to the inconsistent power supply and this costs our company large amounts of money in repairs.
Our work cannot be completed, but our workers must be paid .
Trying to get hold of the electricity department takes hours; they do not answer telephone calls and, if you are lucky to get through, their system is down. There is always some sort of an excuse from them and to get them out to attend to the problem takes forever.
We do have security systems and alarms, but this means nothing as the back up battery lasts only a short time.
Our security company informed us that theft in the area is increasing and, with all the power failures, the alarm systems are useless.
Being a small company, we cannot afford to have any down time, as well as losing business. This, however, means nothing to them. They do not have a clue how tough business is at present and don’t care. They get their salaries, which the taxpayers pay for, so why worry?
