Painting roads in peak hours isn’t on

Can anyone explain to me why the Roads Department closes roads at peak shopping hours, on a Friday, to paint the road markings?

Can anyone explain to me why the Roads Department closes roads at peak shopping hours, on a Friday, to paint the road markings?

Voortrekker Road was closed off this past Saturday (October 22) and it was one hell of a stuff up, as it caused a massive traffic jam.

Surely this should be done after hours or on a Sunday when it’s quiet?

RECORD contacted the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality as well as the Roads Department for comment, but they did not respond to our request by the time of going to print.
