I recently visited Optim-Ed Learning Centre and want to share my experience with the RECORD’s readers.
Optim-Ed Learning Centre was opened in January 2009, when Morgen Maherry and Dr Tracy Naudé saw that there really weren’t many schools catering for learners with special needs.
The two started off in Tracy’s practice, using two rooms to teach their then 11 learners.
Soon after, the need for bigger premises became apparent, due to all the new applications they were receiving; and they eventually moved into their current place in Brackendowns.
They gave this little piece of paradise, this ‘window of opportunity’ to these kids.
Ladies, I salute you and your fellow teachers and staff. What a fantastic job you’re doing!
