Resident fears skew telephone pole may cause damage

The main cable is connected to the dangerously skew pole and to the telephone pole in our neighbour's back yard.

I’m extremely frustrated, as for the past five and a half years I’ve regularly telephoned Telkom to fix the telephone pole erected in our back yard – which is extremely skew.

The main cable is hanging lower than the top of the precast wall. The main cable is connected to the dangerously skew pole and to the telephone pole in our neighbour’s back yard.

When the technician installed my line in January of 2011, he left the line quite low as he said it would pull straight when the pole is fixed. The pole is leaning towards our shed and with the present weather, is at great risk.

One of Telkom’s technicians has been here on several occasions and has confirmed that the pole needs to be fixed; and would be done.

He took my cell number and said the staff would ring me, to advise when they would call to fix the pole.

I’ve been given several reference numbers, the last one being ‘STAFF FAULT-Ref No. 84191’, but have had no response.
