I would like to convey my disappointment with SAPS Eden Park.
We had an incident at our house on November 12, at around 21:00, when someone we know attempted to stab a family member and maliciously damaged my vehicles.
We contacted 1011 at 21:39 pm that same evening – and we even went to the Eden Park Police Department, but received no help.
The next day I went back to open a case.
The suspect was picked up and taken to the Eden Park Police Station on Sunday, November 13. That same day I discovered that the suspect’s father is a police officer – and he was released immediately.
As far as I know, he appeared at the Palmridge Magistrates Court on Monday, November 14.
I have been trying to contact the police department for weeks, to find out the outcome, but the numbers they gave me, just ring or are always busy.
I have even sent a friend to the station, but to no avail.
A quote to repair the damages to the vehicle is for over R50 000; and was given to the investigating officer – but all they say is: “don’t worry, they’ll contact me”.
No one has ever contacted me.

The RECORD is in possession of the names of the suspect, investigating officer in the case and the case number, but all attempts to get comment from the Eden Park Police were in vain.
