Exceptional service received from warrant officer

Warrant Officer Lindeque needs to be commended for the way he conducted himself in his duties

In January 2007, I was one of the first persons to write my 2004 firearm exam. When I received my certificate, I went to the Alberton North police station to apply for my new licence and I was shocked at the way I was treated by the staff.

It took me about three hours to complete the application form. There was nobody to assist me.

Now, 10 years later, I went to the same police station to renew my firearm licence. What a surprise I had! When I arrived, I was approached by Warrant Officer (WO) Lindeque who came to help me into his office because I have am on crutches due to an accident. I am 86 years of age and my wife of 77 who was with me was also assisted.

WO Lindeque assisted me to complete my application forms within 20 minutes. Thereafter, he assisted both of us to our parked vehicle.

In June 2017, I received an SMS from WO Lindeque to advise me that I could collect my licence. We were again met at the door of the police station where the renewal was handed over to me.

This letter serves to express my gratitude to WO Lindeque for the way he conducted himself while doing his duties and for being so helpful to me and the general public.

I wish to commend the services of Warrant Officer Lindeque because this is a police officer that the commanding office can be proud of.
