Successful boxing tournament

The u-24 boys were furious creating a hullabaloo among the spectators and the impressed the officials.

It was a big testing day for young pugilists as they showcased their boxing skills against their opponents in different weight divisions, on August 19.

The tournament, organised by Mark Stols of Sunrise Boxing Club, was well attended with the Palmridge Community Hall packed to capacity.

Participating clubs in the exciting and entertaining event were from Alberton, Springs, TSakane, Eldorado Park, Reiger Park and as far as Swaziland.

“I am happy and thankful for the support from our local communities. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the participating clubs and their fighters. Every fighter was outstanding and very impressive and the officials did a good job.

“My boys of Sunrise equally made me proud with their performance and I hope they have learned a lot from the event to become even better boxers,” said Mark.

The u-14 boys were the most outstanding bout. They were exciting and furious creating a hullabaloo among the spectators and the impressed the officials.
