Alberton High cyclists complete second Gauteng race

Alberton High’s cycling team made a great showing of themselves on a technical course.

ALBERTON High School’s multi-terrain cycling team took part at the second Gauteng Spur Schools Mountain Bike League race on July 28. The race took place at the Boksburg Stadium in Jubilee Street. Several hundred riders participated at the full day event and Alberton High was there in full force with 14 cyclists from the school competing.

The team from Alberton did very well on a course that is technical with several sharp inclines and declines. The course consisted of 5.4km laps with juniors completing two laps and the seniors four.

The team held Alberton High’s name high, finishing the day with competitive times and without any serious injuries.
