I am a resident from Alberton North who got scammed by a group of people selling data bundles at very cheap prices.
This happened a few months ago, at Alberton City Shopping Centre, where I go to often. The people selling these bundles look like ordinary people, but they’re very friendly and brilliant at convincing people to buy what they’re trying to sell.
The group that conned me out of R230, are called something like “Blue Label One”, according to the SMSs I received from them. This could have changed in the meantime. Please be weary of people trying to convince you into buying data.
After they persuaded me into giving them a small amount of money before “loading the data” onto my phone, I found out that I could only send a few free SMSs. It looked very convincing while they supposedly loaded data onto my phone, but I must have known it was all too good to be true.
Please be warned. I know that these people especially target school children, students and old people. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Unfortunately, I’ve had to learn that lesson the hard way.
