On September 18, our family had no idea how close our loved one was to die, or where he would go after being discharged from Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.
We approached Stepping Stone Hospice, who kindly agreed to take care of him for three weeks until we could find alternative care for him.
He was lovingly and respectfully transported from the hospital to the hospice, where he was given immediate care and attention. He died the following morning, in a space filled with love and dignity.
To all the staff at Stepping Stone Hospice – you are angels. We, the Grimett family, are eternally grateful to all of you for the selfless, respectful and loving way you treated our Kenneth. Thank you.
