Santa’s Shoebox collected 3 000 gift boxes in Alberton

The Santa’s Shoebox Foundation, in partnership with Amcare, brought joy to the children of Eden Park and Greenfields at the Eden Park Methodist Church.

YOU do not clearly understand the power of giving unconditionally until you experience the joy of those receiving these gifts.

Perhaps the most touching moment was a young eight-year-old girl, who received among her other gifts a bar of soap. The joy on her face on having her very own bar was enough to give goosebumps.

The Santa’s Shoebox Foundation, in partnership with Amcare, brought joy to the children of Eden Park and Greenfields on November 28 at the Eden Park Methodist Church. Gifts specifically made by donators for each individual child was given to the children.

MY OWN: Everyone received their own special gift.

Receiving gifts that are just their own put a smile on every face. Excitement was shared over the clothes received with exciting discussions about the outfits being shared among the children.

Children receiving candy in their gifts were rearing to give the sweets a try.

SHARED JOY: Marihet Infantino from Amcare shared in the excitement of each child receiving a gift.

The gifts included toys and clothes, as well as some necessities such as sanitary products.

The joy experienced by the children on the day is something that touched all those around. The joy of opening a gift specifically for them, with their name on it, practically lifted the roof off the church building.

GIFT: Marlene Agrella from Santa’s Shoebox handing a local child his Christmas gift.

According to Marlene Agrella form Santa’s Shoebox they collected 3 000 gift boxes in the Alberton area this year. Nationally 96 079 boxes were prepared, each with a specific child in mind.

SHARING: The excitement about the gifts they received were shared between the children.
CHRISTMAS GIFTS: A gift was individually prepared for each child.
