To all of Alberton’s 2018 matriculants let me say congratulations

Well done to 2018 matrics and good luck for the future.

Twelve years of hard work has left you with a very worthwhile achievement you can all be proud of. By extension, I would also like to say thank you to the teachers and parents who have supported the young people to make a success of their school careers.

Remember that you are the voices and minds of tomorrow. Going on from this year you will be able to use your matric to improve not only your own lives but to improve Alberton and South Africa as a whole.

Among your number are the doctors, engineers, scientists, experts and leaders of the future. We know you will make us all proud of the achievements you will have in the great big world that awaits you.

After enjoying the well-deserved rest following your hard work in school, apply yourselves with the same diligence that saw you succeed to earn a matric qualification.

Good luck to everyone seeking a tertiary qualification. I am sure you will find success in your academic pursuits.

To those of you joining us in the workforce: welcome. Your fresh minds and perspectives are sure to make a difference wherever you choose to apply yourselves.

Once again congratulations to all the graduates and may you have an absolutely great year.
