Feeling bad about beggars

Why do I feel that I need to give each and every beggar something?

Why do I feel guilty for not helping beggars?

When driving around in the Alberton area one will come across beggars at almost every stop street or traffic light.

Some of them will look at you as if you are a bad person for not giving them something or they will stand next to your car window the entire time, even if you said you don’t have anything.

Why do I feel I need to give each and every beggar something? I hate feeling like this because I can’t give all the beggars money. Life is difficult for all of us. But what else do you do?

I actually don’t like to stop where there are beggars because of my feeling of guilt. Why should I feel guilty?

I remember a teenager or young adult who constantly begged and pushed himself onto my car to give him something. I offered him some of my food, but he said no, he wanted money.

So then I asked him what will he do with it and he replied by saying “buy cigarettes”. I then said no because I feel it was not a necessity and he refused my food? I mean really? Just so frustrated with this.
