WITH unemployment rate in South Africa still on the rise, the COURIER took the conversation to the streets and asked residents what they think the solutions are.

This is what people had to say:

GODFREY MATEKAWE: “To defuse unemployment, training centres should be implemented for people to get skills. Once people have skills they will be able to apply for different jobs and careers.”
BEN LUKHELE: “Get investors to invest money in the country. Also, encourage the young ones to be educated so they can come up with different ideas on how to grow our economy.”
ANDREW STUBBS: “Provide internships. Companies should take on interns and the government should aid those companies. Also, inject more money in education for people to have skills and provide a way to stabilise our economy.”
THABANGA MOLOI: “The only way to find a plan and a good solution are to get businesses outside our country to help. Deploy programmes through churches because churches can play a pivotal role in the matter.”
