IT will be a showdown of drifting with plenty of tyre smoke expected at the semi-final round of the Evolution Wheel and Tyre South African Drift Championship to be held at Rock Raceway on October 5.
Drifters will make a last dash attempt to gain maximum points in the series as the semi-finals roll on before the season’s series wraps up in November.
The drift judges will determine who will be the podium winners in the all-out drift battle in the gold cup eliminations division.
All will not be lost for the competitors who do not qualify to partake in the gold cup as there is a silver cup elimination that will ensure drifters will get a second go at impressing the drift judges and fans.
Competing for the silver cup means they still enjoy the sideways experience and walk off with some silverware in hand.
The drift masters will take to the gauntlet laid out by the judges as they try impressing them with their style, flair and sideways antics without losing the drift.
Drifters from all over are expected to make their way to the circuit for the semi-final round of the series.
Patrons can make their way their way to the Rock Raceway where the gates will be open at 10am with drift practices up until 4pm when the drift competition starts action off with qualifying runs.
Refreshments will be on sale on site. Admission for adults R80 and children R30 ages six to 12.
