Jacob Nzimande: “The recent incident is saddening and we feel for the bereaved families. However, I could allow my grandchildren to go out on a trip, we just need to be sceptical.”
Alfred Dube: “The child may be excited to go on a school trip, but that may not sit well with the parent. But you can’t stop your child from going to these trips because maybe they may learn something while they’re there.”
Riaan van Zyl: “The safety of children at camps depends on the teachers going with. Teachers need to be more hands on.”
Rudy Basson: “No, camps aren’t safe anymore. There is not enough supervision and children can just do what they want.”
