Resilience Gymnastics Club held its annual year-end function on November 30 on the club’s premises in Robertsham.
The function was attended by gymnast’s parents, families and friends. A club competition was held as well as displays by the Rhythmic Gymnasts staged by their coach Fikile Jaxa and by the Artistic Gymnasts, which was put together by Roxanne van Herwaarde, owner of the club.
The function ended with the annual prize-giving. They would like to congratulate all their prizewinners for 2013 in the different categories.
The following gymnasts received top honours for the highest marks in total in the whole year’s competitions (friendlies, regionals, provincials and nationals):
*Rhythmic Gymnast of the Year: Ashlea Hickey (level 1).
*Junior Men’s Artistic Gymnast of the Year: Katlego Masako (level 2).
*Junior Woman’s Artistic Gymnast of the Year: Callen Leeuw (level 1).
*Senior Woman’s Artistic Gymnast of the Year: Donelle Macario (level 4).
In total 30 gymnasts (Rhythmic and Artistic) took part in the 2013 competitions, with most gymnasts receiving their Central Gauteng Provincial Colours.
The following coaches/judges also received their Central Gauteng Colours: Roxanne van Herwaarde – Judging, Tracy van Herwaarde and Fikile Jaxa – Coaching and Judging.
The club, which is situated in Robertsham, offers classes in rhythmic and artistic gymnastics.
