Registration open for 35th Gandhi Walk

The entrance fee to participate in any walk is R40 per person.

People in their thousands from all walks of life and faith groups are expected to participate in the 35th Gandhi Walk on April 5, at the Gandhi Hall, Impala Crescent, Extension Five, Lenasia.

This year they are celebrating the 150th birthday anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, 25 years of democracy and the 35th anniversary of the Gandhi Walk.

The addition of the 3km will facilitate the elderly and the very young. Learners from various pre-schools in Lenasia and surrounding areas are being invited to participate in the 3km walk with their parents.

The 12km walk will commence at 9am, the 6km walk at 9.15am and the 3km walk at 9.30am.

The entrance fee to participate in any walk is R40 per person.

To avoid standing in long queues on the day of the walk to purchase their walk entry tickets, pre-registration is now open.

One can register online through gandhiwalk.org.za or register at all Pick n Pay outlets including Pick n Pay Clothing and Pick n Pay Express at BP garages nationwide.

A table will be set up on the day of the walk where pre-registered walkers can change their voucher for a walk number and a free T-shirt.
