Thank you to refuse removal – Alberton resident

It was a pleasure to see them and the trucks going through the quiet streets of Alberton.

As a resident of Alberton, I wish to thank the men and women who are still working tirelessly to remove our rubbish by emptying our bins.

It was a pleasure to see them and the trucks going through the quiet streets of Alberton.

But not only are they doing their rounds as they have been in the past, they also add on a bit of advice when they empty your bins.

This morning (Monday) when I went out to collect my bin to bring it back into my property, I was greeted with a friendly and warm ‘Good morning mam, how are you today?’

That already told me that these people are still doing their jobs with a smile and gratitude despite a country being under lockdown.

Just as I was about to push the bin back into our property the second man said: “Some good advice mam, please wash and sanitise your hands or use gloves when moving your bins inside. We touch thousands of bins a day and then we touch the handles of your bins and everybody else’s bins.”

To these men and women, and EMM – thank you for delivering this essential service, not only with a smile but with some good advice as well.

Grateful resident
