Dear Mr. President,
Thank you so much for putting South Africa into lockdown so fast.
Yes, it has negative effects on our economy, but how much worse the effect on the economy would be if we did not have lockdown and many thousands had contracted Covid-19.
You could have waited two weeks and had a much worse scenario, instead, you took a leap ahead of time and are saving many people from this disease.
Please do not listen to those who complain. If they had contracted the disease they would be the first to complain again.
You cannot please everyone.
I could wish people would abide by the regulations and stop putting others at risk.
The cost to the country had you not done this would have been horrendous.
As an older person I want to thank you, you may have prevented many from permanent disability and death.
You are a brave man Sir and you have my respect.
