Mabuza returns to ring for title opportunity

Kiazer Mabuza has another opportunity to capture a world title.

VETERAN and former world title holder, Kaizer Mabuza, will return to the ring to face up-and-coming youngster, Paul Kamanga.

“We will be facing Paul, who is going to be tough to fight, but I know what to expect from him and we will prepare for that,” said Trainer/Manger, Manny Fernandes, from BRD boxing Academy, “Kaizer has a lot of experience in the ring and he will be going for the title.”

The two boxers from the South will be fighting for the vacant WBC silver belt in the junior-welterweight division. They will feature as an undercard on the “Super 6 Clash for Cash bill. Tommy Oosthuizen, Johnny Muller, Ryno Liebenberg, Roberto Bolonti, Denis Grachev and Wilberforce Shihepo will be contesting for the R5 million purse money. All three opening round bouts will be contested over 12 rounds as well as the Mabuza/Kamanga one.

Kaizer Mabuza’s record reads 25 fights (KO 15), lost 11 and drawn 3 which gives him 39 fights in his long career.

Betting World will be available for the duration of the tournament. For the first round of the tournament in August, all you must do is predict the three winners of the first bouts and how victory is achieved.

Whether by stoppage or points, the winner will be determined by who gets closest.

The online champion will be treated to a slap-up dinner for two, a pair of VIP (ringside) tickets and a night at five-star Emperors Palace for the semi-final event in September. What are you waiting for? Let us have your picks.
