The Bag Lady

As I’ve been travelling around the South this last week I have seen first-hand all the families who have had no water for a week.

It’s ridiculous to say the least and I’ve realised how fortunate I am to have water. We did experience a power outage on Monday September 22 due to a local substation being vandalised, which was bad enough but no water! Terrible.

Then on Thursday I learned of a 47-year-old man who was murdered on Heritage Day evening while enjoying a family braai. Too sickening for words! My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

It’s time the Government sat up and took notice of what’s happening all around them. Murders, power outages, no water, violent crimes, homes robbed daily, to name but a few of the horrors we are living with. This is only the beginning of a country which could easily go the way Zimbabwe has, and that we don’t want.  The time is now, do something!!

Heritage Day

I hope you enjoyed Heritage Day and spent time with family and friends relaxing. It was strange being in the middle of the week but a well-deserved break from work. Not for all of us though as I popped in to Spar and Woolworths at Comaro View Shopping Centre, and many people were working hard. What a lovely surprise though to see shop assistants dressed in their cultural attire. It made my day.

Have you any caps?

You may remember a while back I asked if any of you had sports caps you didn’t need anymore?  Derek who lives in the South is collecting old, used and new caps and needs quite a few more to add to his collection. If you can assist him, please phone 082 315 3708. I’m sure he would be prepared to collect any you have.

Short but sweet this week I’m afraid but next week I’ll be out there seeking new products, shopping till I’m dropping  (umm)  and a Christmas cake recipe to bake in good time for the festive season.

Shop till you drop.
