South African stand-up comedy received a major boost in December 2008 with the opening of a brand new venue, Parker’s Comedy & Jive, at Monte Casino in Fourways. The venue, purpose-built to showcase the art of stand-up comedy, features the best in local and international comedians.

The brainchild of SA comedy stalwart Joe Parker, Parker’s Comedy & Jive is the realisation of a long-term dream to provide a regular home for stand-up comedy, which is “a great night out” for individuals, couples, groups and corporate functions.

The venue also obviously offers visitors all the perks of visiting Monte Casino, including ample secure parking and a mind-boggling variety of gaming opportunities.

The venue, which seats 280 people in a relaxed and classy atmosphere, is open from Wednesday to Saturday every week.

Parker’s Comedy & Jive is situated near the cinemas at Monte Casino, opposite Sweets from Heaven.

Parker’s Comedy and Jive seating is unreserved. Should you like to book a table, this may only be done via the office, there is a surcharge fee of R30 per person and payment is required in advance.
