Condolences to those who lost loved ones
A sad day indeed, and yet, we also stand in awe of those unsung heroes who just jumped in and assisted....

Alberton was rocked to its core again with the tragic accident on the N12 highway which sadly caused the death of four people.
Our sincerest condolences go out to those families and friends who are mourning their losses.
But today, we also stand in awe of those unsung heroes who just jumped in and assisted. It is stories like these that restores hope in mankind again.
People on the scene who reacted immediately to get the emergency services out to the scene, those who pulled others from their vehicles not thinking but just acting – those who took the time to assess injuries, those who comforted others in severe shock, even though they themselves must have been in shock. Kind acts like those from Crestview Spar to have water and paper cups delivered to the scene of the accident – and none of these acts go unnoticed.
Today we also stand in appreciation of our emergency services – each and everyone on the scene; SAPS, EMPD, Netcare 911, ER24, Emer-g-med, Maponya, Provincial Services and the Fire Department – if we missed anyone, please know that your selfless services are appreciated. These men and women worked quickly to attend firstly to the more seriously injured and then to the less seriously injured. We received a number of comments on our website about the handling of the accident and the cleaning up of the scene afterwards – all in praise of our emergency services.
And with this, we wish to acknowledge all those who came to the rescue of others in their time of need – we salute you!
