Golfers do it again

Support for Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services in New Market Park has recently come from the Southdowns Country Club in Kibler Park.

ALBERTON – Their ladies golf section hosted a charity golf day early in December in aid of Stepping Stone Hospice and the neat sum of R25 000 was raised.

Members of the Southdowns Management Committee visited the hospice last week, where the official handing over of the cheque took place. Brenda Shimmon, ladies captain, took the opportunity to thank all golfers and sponsors who participated in the day for their generosity and kindness.

“There is no doubt that Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services stepped in and filled a huge need in our communities, and the least we can do is to show them our support,” Brenda said.

In accepting the cheque, Stepping Stone CEO Tersia Burger said that this event had once again proved to her that golfers most certainly are among the most generous and giving people she has encountered on her hospice road. “We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
