Thys Burger, famous rugby Springbok from twenty-five years ago, visits Alberton.
ALBERTON – Thys Burger, famous rugby Springbok from twenty-five years ago, during the demonstrators’ tour of 1981 in New Zealand, visited Alberton on his rugby memorabilia and signed rugby balls venture.
Thys, who was born on October 10, 1954, is still today an integral part of the world of rugby. A-Square Forklift Alberton chairman Manie Reyneke (left) and Alberton rugby manager Lood Kleynhans (right) shared the moment with this Springbok great (middle), who played 13 games of which three were tests in the Springbok green and gold during 1980 and 1981.
