GALLERY: Unnatural disaster

On Sunday, June 28 over 100 dead fish were found in Jackson Dam. On Monday, July 6, the fish are still dying.

DISASTER: Jackson Dam Fishing Club leader, Robin Norton, estimated that 168 dead fish were pulled from the dam on Sunday, June 28. When the RECORD was at the dam on Monday, July 6, even more fish were found floating in the water.

LOSS: Speculation has been rife as to the reason behind the death of the fish. As of yet no statement has been released by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

TRAGEDY: The fish in Jackson Dam are still dying and, as of yet, we don’t know why.

OBLIVIOUS: Birds and other wildlife are seemingly unaffected by whatever killed the fish.
