Setting the record straight

The school governing body (SGB) of Edenpark Primary is urging the community to stand together and find solutions to the problems the school faces.

EDEN PARK -Dear parents and community members, there is a letter circulating in Edenpark accusing some members of the Eden Park Primary School governing body (SGB) of being involved in corruption.

At this stage there is no evidence of such activities and the allegations seem to be aimed at destroying reputations instead of being founded on facts. The sad part is that the school’s reputation is suffering in the process.

Complainants are urged to rather visit the school and speak to the SGB to find a solution instead of inciting and stirring up the community. As a SGB we understand that the school is struggling due to the lack of a principal for so many months but now is the time to stand together and think of the learners and how we can improve their future. They should be the reason we act, speak and the motivation behind everything we do. Let’s not remain divided but unite for our children’s sake.

The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) was in the process of transferring a principal to Eden Park Primary who was approved by the SGB but unfortunately objections were made against the transfer.

Sadly it seems like Edenpark Primary will start 2016 without a principal if we as a community do not stand together.
