Karateka makes the South proud

TOWNSVIEW karateka under the tutelage of Seipai Karen Heunis and the karateka from Mondeor under instruction from Shaun Burgess recently returned from Rochester in New York, USA where they made the South proud.

They competed at the annual International Kyokushikai Karate Knockdown Championship (IFK) and tournament events.

The South African Kenshikai team comprised of nine competitors who participated in various events at the tournament which included knockdown, semi-contact, non-contact fighting as well as kata and weapons. The team of nine brought home 19 trophies in total.
