Church brothers show they care

Once they identify a family in need the brothers get the work done

LORENZA Herps (68) of Adam Kok Street in Riemvasmaak, Eden Park was caught by surprise on Youth Day when a group of men arrived in the early morning to paint her house for free.

“I heard cars pulling into my yard on Thursday, June 16 and I saw the men taking out tins of paint and rollers. The never told me that they were coming to paint my house. It was a surprise and I am thankful for what they have done,” said a happy Lorenza.

Christian Men’s Movement (CMM) is a men’s guild in the VGK Church. According to the group’s spokesperson, Isaak (Sakkie) Meyer, the aim of the group is to identify families with a need, help them and uplift them spiritually.

“After agreeing about our aim and mission, we took on this initiative to start with the house of Auntie Bokkie (Lorenza) which needed to be painted outside. We have also offered the family food parcels which we hope will bring some joy to them.

“Our next step is to identify another family we can help and take it from there,” Sakkie said.
