Shop owners assisted police by alerting them after observing two suspicious-looking men.

SHOP owners’ observation of two suspicious-looking men resulted in two arrests after they alerted the police.

On Wednesday, July 6, at Letsoho Shopping Centre, in Thokoza, observant shop owners detected two suspicious-looking men and alerted EMPD (Ekurhuleni Muetropolitan Police Department) Peace Corps members, who were on patrol.

At around 15:40, the two suspects were approached. A 9mm pistol with a filed off serial numbers and five live rounds were found on one of the suspects, and three more live rounds were found on his accomplice.

The two suspects, aged 32 and 35, were immediately arrested and detained at Thokoza Police Station, for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
