SPCA raises funds for quarantine kennels

The Alberton SPCA held a golf day to raise funds for the construction of quarantine kennels, recently.

THE Alberton SPCA held a golf day on September 6, to raise funds for the construction of quarantine kennels.

These kennels are integral in preventing diseases from spreading between the animals.

Nine four-balls (including Buildmart/Ferreira Bros, Remax Finest Alberton, Grandmark International, Beraca Auditors, Geoff Green, Alan Watson and Clifford Harper) joined the SPCA for the fun day of golf, followed by a dinner and a prize-giving.

The Alberton SPCA would like to thank the Reading Country Club for allowing them to hold the golf day there, as well as the following sponsors: Lightside Enterprises, Meat Village, Tiger Wheel and Tyre Alberton (Alberton Life Style Centre branch), Same Water, Nevada Contruction, Remax All Stars (hole and fourball), Rawson Properties Glenvista, Caroline Jones, Wink Promotions, Luv Dogs Pet Spa, Springbok Pharmacy, Bootee Bronzing, Ann Watson, Errol Osborn for the braai’s, Mike Hamilton (Kwa Maritane mini break), Roman’s Pizza Brackenhurst, Legand Kitchenware, Toys ‘R Us, Liquor Warehouse Brackenhurst, Alan Stewart, Cheetah Technologies, Doug Ford Signs, Mugg & Bean Meyersdal, FJM Accounting Services, Coffee Unplugged, Spraymate, Lynx optics, Galderma, Eucerin, Josh Landman and The Pooch Parlour.

The results of the golf day: winners: Rick Ferreira and John De Oliveira; second place: Donovan Bester and Brent Slabbert; third place: Jason de Villiers and Tracy du Plessis; longest drive: Tracy du Plessis; nearest to the pin: Ricardo Ferreira (fifth hole) and Justin de Necker (15th hole).
