Smell of illegally dumped refuse is infuriating

He told the RECORD that they did complain to the metro municipality, but that nothing has been done.

“I AM tired of everybody dumping their rubbish next to my house,” said an angry Solly Adams, of Yamaha Street, Eden Park.

”My family and I have to live with the stinky smell of rotten, dead cats and dogs and be pestered by the rats running up and down in my property.”

According to Adams, the dumping has been going on for a long time and it was started by residents in Eden Park.

“The dumping was aggravated by residents of Peterson Street, who cross the main street to dump their rubbish; they dump dead dogs and cats and then we must live with the rotten smell,” he said.

He told the RECORD that they did complain to the metro municipality, but that nothing has been done.

“I have reported and complained about the removal of this heap of rubbish and even my out-of-the-ordinary high water and lights account which, for months, surpassed all other residents’ accounts,”Adams added.

”We are, however, getting no help from the EMM.”

The RECORD approached the metro for comment but, at the time of going to print, nothing was forthcoming.
