Illegal dump sites to be monitored, cleared

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s Alberton Waste Management Services depot made inspection on the site and the area at large.

AFTER reports of constant acts of illegal dumping in Eden Park, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s Alberton Waste Management Services conducted an inspection at known dumping hotspots and the area at large.

It has come to the attention of the depot that illegally dumped waste in some of the areas was cleared before but continued in various spots.

It must be noted that the depot has a programme in place to clear illegal dumping sites in the whole Alberton area.

Arrangements have been made with the illegal dumping team to attend all illegal dumping spots over weekends and sometimes during the week including the spot which was complained about.

Issued by Themba Gadebe, spokesperson for the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.
