Braai day like never before

Schools looked good on Heritage Day.

MAKRO Alberton had a braai day competition between schools on Saturday, September 24 with Hoërskool Alberton, Hoërskool Marais Viljoen and Stoneridge Primary School making it to the top three.

As part of the competition, the school that got the most points on the day won a R5 000 Makro gift voucher and that was handed over to Hoërskool Alberton. Schools such as Laerskool Randhart, Ekurhuleni School for the Deaf, Alberton High, Alston Primary School and Sofunda Primary School also participated in the competition.

There were loads of activities, including a variety of board games. Learners from the different schools went out of their way to draw attention. Dancers from Stoneridge Primary did some cultural dances. Everyone also represented their culture.

“A special thank you to John-Henry Opperman from Kampkos for making a donation to the Ekurhuleni School for the Deaf and to the judges, Nadine Mason from Amcare and Sherelle Ryland. We would also like to thank all the schools,” said Erika Moseleni, marketing manager at Makro.
