Fun activities stretche creativity

Junior Colleges Castillian recently finished their holiday programme that was packed with loads of creative and active activities.

THERE’S just never a dull moment at Junior Colleges Castillian and the school’s holiday programme, packed with loads of creative and active activities, once again proved it.

“We encourage this programme, as young children are naturally curious and need continuous educational stimulation,” said Kumari Lewis, communications administrator for the school.

One such activity took the form of paper plate creations, giving the kids a chance to use their imagination and creativity and giving them something to take home to their parents and be proud of.

Another fun-filled activity saw the children take part in fairy dough creations, giving them an opportunity to make their own play-dough with an easy recipe: one cup of hair conditioner; two and a half cups of maizena; food colouring and glitter. Mix all of that together and you get a wonderful medium to create and sculpt memorable creations.

Through that exercise, the little ones are given a chance to explore their different senses. They get to touch different textures, smell the scent of ingredients, plus see the different colours and shiny glitter.

“This educational experience taught our kids how to follow instructions in an orderly manner. It taught them about measurements and mainly about patience, because shaking those ziplock bags needed all the patience our little ones had. After shaking and shaking, our little chefs enjoyed their scrumptious ice cream creations. At JC Castillian we plan our holiday programme to stimulate kids, so that their learning never end,” adds Lewis.
