Motorist swerves to avoid pedestrian

Three people were injured.

Three people were injured when a car overturned on the R59 highway, at Kliprivier Road, towards Vereeniging, on October 29.

According to ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene shortly after 09:00 and found three people with moderate injuries.

Two of the occupants were found outside the vehicle, while the third had to be extricated through the back window, due to the damage on the vehicle.

It is understood that the driver lost control of the car when he apparently swerved to avoid colliding with a pedestrian, who ran across the highway.

The three occupants were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
