Ligstad celebrates one year

Ligstad has become a safe haven for many Albertonians over the past year.

DURING the month of September Ligstad celebrated its first anniversary at one of Alberton’s heritage sites, the old Eeufees Church.

Over the past year the Ligstad has hosted the elderly at various projects throughout the week and continues to offer an aftercare for school children.

During the celebration, Alida Jooste thanked all the sponsors for making it possible to continue the work they do in the community. She said, “We thank the Alberton RECORD for being part of the project from the beginning.”

A special mention went to the volunteers who continue to give their time in assisting. From those who give their time in the kitchen and those who assist with transportation, they are part of the reason why Ligstad continues to serve the community.

Based on Matthew 5:14, The Ligstad aims to bring the light to the people of Alberton by uplifting the community, by utilising the community itself.
