Veronique won title

She is a model with a plan.

VERONIQUE Kuit (16) came back from Cape Town with the Miss Ribbons for Roses Pageant Supreme Queen title – as the overall winner.

Having originally won the Miss Ribbons for Roses North West title, Alberton High School pupil Veronique represent Gauteng at the national pageant on October 1. A lot of hard work on the side lines enabled Veronique to attend the competition.

The RECORD paid Veronique a visit and asked the following questions to get to know this young beauty contestant better:

1.Was this your first pageant ever?

No, this wasn’t my first pageant. I’ve been in the industry for about two years now.

2 Describe that moment on stage?

When you’re on stage, it feels like you’re the only person around. It’s also very nerve-racking. When it comes to crowning, you get millions of butterflies.

3. Do you think that anyone can participate in pageants?

Yes, anybody can participate in pageants.

4. What according to you, are the qualities that a model must have?

A model must be able to walk probably, have a proper posture and have self confidence. She must be a role model to others and she must be able to have fun and enjoy what she is doing.

5.What’s your passion in life?

My passion in life is to help people in need – to make our community a better place.

6. Who makes your outfits for the different pageants?

Fairy-tail Designs makes my pageant dresses and they always look extremely elegant and stunning.

7. Who inspires you in life and why?

Rolene Strauss inspires me, because when she entered Miss SA a few years ago she didn’t succeed. That didn’t stop her from working on her mistakes – to correct them and then when she entered again, she was crowned Miss SA, as well as Miss World.

8. If you could change something about the world, what would it be?

I would change people forgetting about the elderly people in old age homes. I would certainly give them more attention. They also need attention and love.

9. What do you do in your spare time and what are your hobbies?

In my spare time I like to give back to the community whether it’s the SPCA, children’s homes or old age homes. I pay these homes a visit and find donations to assist their cause.

10. Do you have any siblings?

Yes, I have one six-year-old brother. We’re 10 years apart with two days in between. He’s also a model and was crowned Mr Junior SA 1st prince in 2015.

11. Describe yourself in one word?

‘Caring’.

12. What are your goals in life ? And what are your goals as a model?

My goal is to be a successful model in New York, which will probably happen, because I’ve been offered contracts. My other goal in life is to help the people who need to be helped, so when I finish school I would like to become a social worker, who especially works with abused children.
