NU METRO Cinemas has confirmed that it will be releasing the highly-anticipated blockbuster Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in fully immersive style, in its Scene Xtreme Cinema at Nu Metro The Glen (along with other cinemas nationwide) next Thursday, December 15.
This means Star Wars-fans in South Africa get an opportunity to see this new blockbuster a day before the US and most other countries internationally – now also with an enhanced level of Scene Xtreme-quality on a giant screen.
Scene Xtreme-Cinemas are able to showcase films in full 4K ultra high definition-glory (UHD) on a large format-screen. 4K UHD is the highest resolution-quality; standard movie shows are in 2K HD. 4K therefore means double the digital perfection, bringing viewers as close as possible to experiencing what they see on-screen in virtual reality.
The Scene Xtreme screenings of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story at Nu Metro The Glen will project the film with RealD precision white screen-technology. That will ensuring super-crisp, ultra high resolution digital 3D images, which are also brighter when compared to standard 3D screens; and are also coupled with the top-of-the-range Dolby 7.1 sound.
An all-new epic adventure, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first of the Star Wars standalone films from Lucasfilm. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline, brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things – and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker.
